Description of unusual tailed bird

I saw a bird yesterday that is unlike any I have seen here in NE Kansas. The closest thing I can find online is a scissor tailed flycatcher but it isn't quite right. This bird was the same basic size and body shape. It had a long scissor-like tail but it had distinct brown & white markings, very defined. It was flying when I first saw it and it was fast, straight and only about 20 ft off the ground. The most striking thing about it was its tail. resembled a bird of paradise. It was divided in two, at least 2 1/2 time the length of the bird and ended in feathery tufts! Can anyone give me an any ideas about what this might be? Is it native to the US, Mid-west/plains? It is so exotic looking I wondered if it was an escaped pet or something. I am probably just ignorant and it will be something common that I never noticed before:). I did see it a little way down the road (it had been flying parallel to the road) sitting on or close to the ground in a small field, if that helps. Thanks!

Please help me ID this hummingbird

It's been roughly ten yrs since I saw it, but I still think of my sighting when my mind wonders from time to time. I was in Williamsburg, VA, and it hovered right in front of me for a good 30 secs. It was very large for a hummingbird, bigger than a house sparrow but smaller than a robin, it was light blue and had a light grey/white chest, not certain but I believe it had a black beak.

I've searched to try to ID it in the past to no avail, and even my high school Field Bio teacher thought I was crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

New to app and cannot get it to add bird to lifelist

Nook color here.
I got the bird pics, sounds etc to work and that is beautiful.
Underneath the images of a particular bird on the right, there is a button that says "Add to Lifelist".

After I hit that button, I am taken to my lifelist folder?
Do I then have to type in the bird manually?

My expectation was that the lifelist would automatically have added the bird by pushing the button.

So is it that I have to type in the bird manually to my Nook, or that I am missing something basic here???

Thanks

Football: State bowl championships set to kickoff

This weekend's CIF State Football Bowl Championships kick off in 20 minutes at Home Depot Center in Carson with the Division IV game pitting one of the oldest schools in Northern California against one of the newest in Southern California.

Chatsworth Sierra Canyon (14-0), in just its third season of 11-man football, was selected to represent the South after routing Lancaster Paraclete 47-14 in the Southern Section East Valley Division finals. The Trailblazers average 46.1 points per game and are led by 1,000-yard rushers Xavier Menifield and Danny Jordan and quarterback Tyler Stewart, who has thrown for 2,245 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Le Grand, from a town of 1,650 people southeast of Merced, has had a football team since the 1920s and this year's edition might be the school's best ever--even better than last year's team which won the program's first section title.

The Sac-Joaquin Section champion Bulldogs are averaging a whopping 58.5 points per game and are led by Daniel Guizar, who has rushed for almost 2,000 yards and 35 touchdowns. Quarterback Alex Bucio has thrown for 2,344 yards and 490 touchdowns.

The Division IV game will be followed by the Division I showdown between Santa Margarita (12-2) and Bellarmine Prep of San Jose (12-1).

Stay logged in for live scoring updates from both games.

-- Steve Galluzzo

How to Become a Wholesale Distributor

All grades Proveedor of ASTM A-27, including grade 60-30, have a melting point of between 2,770 and 2,810 degrees Fahrenheit. A-27 is available in a number of grades depending on the tensile and yield strength required. For grade 60-30 it has a 60 kilogram per square inch tensile strength and a 30 ksi yield strength. Tensile strength is a measurement of the pressure at which the steel's cross section significantly contracts. Yield strength is a measurement at which the steel begins to deform. A-27 is also available in 65-35, 70-36 and 70-40 grades. One of the most simple steels available in terms of chemistry, ASTM A-27 steel grade 60-30 has only five elements PVC Panel added to the iron foundation. The distribution of elements is: carbon (0.3 percent), manganese (0.60 percent), silicon (0.80 percent), phosphorous (less than 0.05 percent), and sulfur (less than 0.06 percent). The steel lacks molybdenum, chromium and nickel commonly found in modern steels.Direct care workers are commonly known as home health aides, as classified by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). According to the BLS, home health aides enable the elderly or disabled to live in their homes and receive general care, instead of having to live in a health care facility. Under nurse or medical staff direction, aides provide PVC Panels health-related services including administering medications, checking vitals to monitor overall health and assisting with prescribed exercises.

They also assist patients into and out of bed and with personal care such as bathing, dressing and grooming. With additional training and certification, home health aides may also assist with medical equipment kept in the home to support patients. Habilitation technicians provide care for people with developmental or physical solar vacuum tube disabilities. Working with clients in their home and community, habilitation technicians are required to follow requests included in a treatment plan of care issued by a health service or medical facility. Habilitation technicians provide written documentation of their activities and success for each goal identified in the treatment plan. To work in North Carolina, these individuals are required to possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a clean criminal record, a driver's license and then certification.Attain the start-up capital you'll need to get your wholesale distributor business up and running. This step will PVC panel typically be completed by speaking to a bank about a business loan. If your credit history is less than stellar, you should expect that you'll encounter significant difficulty getting a bank on board with you, so you might try private investors instead.Study your competition. The most successful wholesale distributor knows what his competitors are doing and figures out a way to do it better.Continue to build and grow your distribution business until it becomes mapp gas profitable. Once it does, you can start to look at cost-cutting measures you can take to make it even more profitable. Use grass-roots advertising at first to get out the word about your business.

solar power system

solar panels

How to Convert an Incandescent Bulb to LED

LED Light Bulbs are the next big thing on the green scene, offering the possibility of conserving even more energy than you would with an energy-saving compact fluorescent bulb. While replacing your fluorescent bulb with an LED may only save you a few bucks a year, another added benefit is that unlike CFL's, LED's can be made to dim. Although LED bulbs for household or RV use may look a bit different than incandescent or CFL bulbs, they can be installed in the same manner as the LED tubes rest.Incandescent bulbs generate heat as well as light, which cuts down on both their lifespan and efficiency. An LED bulb generates almost no heat, while generating plenty of light. They also last years longer than incandescent bulbs, cutting down on replacement costs. The amount of light given off by a light bulb is measured in lumens, and LED light bulbs give off more lumens per watt than any traditional incandescent light.

According to the Madison Wisconsin Gas and Electric LED bulbs company, LED bulbs generate 20 to 60 lumens per watt, while incandescent bulbs only generate 10 to 17 lumens per watt.Light bulbs that use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are increasing in popularity. These bulbs offer compelling advantages over traditional incandescent bulbs -- they last longer, are more durable and are energy efficient. According to EarthLED.com, an LED light bulb has the potential to last more than 25,000 hours, and can help reduce your power bill. It's no LED light bars surprise that people are interested in these bulbs, and it only takes a few simple steps to replace an old incandescent with a new LED bulb.

archibaldboy

LED strips
