Have you checked to make sure that your app has your account enabled? Let us know if you are able to access your sightings once you are logged into your account.
Thank you.
The best way to report bugs to us at this time is to email us at feedback@greenmtd.com Thanks for your support!
Great Question!

That is one of our goals going forward to add a tool that will enable you to do just that. We'll keep you updated as to our progress in that area.
Thank you robertkuhn!

It is a very important step. It seems the iPhone/iPods are "timing out" while loading the app... which tells the device that this is a faulty app and it stores that in it's memory.

So turning the phone off for 5 or more minutes ensures that this information is erased from the devices memory and the second install should function properly.

There is a LOT of rich content in this app with all the bird calls, photos and maps.

Thanks again for posting your solution to help others with the same issue!
We are continually updating our species content with new images, new range maps, new sounds, new species, etc etc. When you sync species content your app downloads any new information since your last sync.

For birds we have added some addition images. For some of the other subjects we are adding species and more. How often you choose to sync this information is entirely up to you.

Does that answer your question?
I am new too, but I did a little "advanced search" here... and here is the list... a lot of them have black heads with yellow behind... Does this help at all?
http://www.audubonguides.com/advancedSearch.html?act=search&textCriteria=&categoryId=4&subCategoryId=1008&searchBy=on&code=&colors=875&colors=872

And here's another one...
http://www.audubonguides.com/species/American%20Hover%20Fly.html

And yet another list that includes the robber flies - but I don't see much yellow on them...
http://www.audubonguides.com/advancedSearch.html?act=search&textCriteria=&categoryId=4&subCategoryId=1008&subCategoryId=1017&searchBy=on&code=&colors=875&colors=872
At this point there is not a way to combine all 4 into one. We ARE including an option to "turn off" the first page of the app so you will go straight into the Browse features of the app that you tap on. But you will still have to exit one app to then open another.

Thanks for your support!!
"I finally got it to work and here's how. I would suggest posting this on your forum so others can try it. While turning off my Touch and re-syncing the App didn't work, it did work after I re-downloaded the App from iTunes onto my computer. Once you've purchased an App, you can always re-download it in case you accidentally delete one. After I re-downloaded the App from iTunes I re-synced my Touch, and it worked. So instead of having people search for updates, as in your instructions below, when they have just purchased the App they should try re-downloading the whole thing from iTunes rather than just searching for updates. Since I had just downloaded the App, there were no updates, which I think is why it didn't work.

I'm really happy with the App and excited I got it to work - good job on that front. Hopefully my tips here will help others. This is too good an App to give up on."

We are aware of the species that are not currently available in our database. We are continually updating and adding content. These will be available in the near future. If you have purchased an app, these updates will be available soon as well.
YES! A digital Mushroom guide is being planned and we hope to have it available this summer. We do not have specific dates for the other field guides, but they should be available in the next few months.
If you are still experiencing crashes upon start up of the Bird App, here is a list of step by step instructions to guide you.

1. On the iPhone/iPod, tap and hold your finger on the Audubon Birds icon until the icons all start to shake and have an X on them.
2. Lift your finger and tap again on the Audubon Birds icon to delete it. You will have a confirmation message asking if you want to delete the app. Tap Delete.
3. Press the round menu button on the front of the iPhone/iPod to stop the icons from shaking and exit “delete” mode.
4. Power down your iPhone/iPod by pressing and holding the power button until a “slide to power off” slider appears. Slide to power down the phone.
5. Once powered down, wait for about 5 minutes (allowing the memory to clear), restart the phone by pressing and holding the power button.
6. Start iTunes on your computer and click Applications under Library in the left hand column.
7. Update Audubon Birds to the latest version by clicking the “check for updates” link on the bottom right. If you’re already logged into iTunes, then this link may say “x updates available” where x is the number of updates you have available.
8. Find the Audubon Birds app in the update list and click the get update button. If the Audubon Birds app isn’t in the update list then your iTunes should already be at the latest version. You can verify this by right clicking on the Audubon Birds icon in your Applications section and selecting “get info”. On the summary panel, the version number should be 1.3.
9. Connect your iPhone/iPod to your computer. If iTunes is setup to automatically sync on start-up let it finish. The app may not be sync'ed at this point yet.
10. Click on your iPhone/iPod on the left hand panel under Devices. The right hand side should now have details about your iPhone/iPod. There should also be a tab at the top on the right hand side called "applications". Click on this tab.
11. You will now see a list of your apps with checkboxes to the left of the names of the apps. Ensure the Audubon Birds app has a checkmark beside it. If not, then check this box so that iTunes will now sync the app.
12. Sync your iPhone by using the sync button on the bottom right of this screen or using the sync command in the File menu.

Try your app again to see if it is working properly. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact us.

If you are not hearing the bird songs and calls on your iPhone or iPod, there are a few places to check. Firstly, check the side of your device and be sure that the volume is turned up and the ring/silent switch is turned to "RING" mode.

If both of those are set correctly and still no sounds, there is a SOUND setting with in the app that may be disabled. Open the app, tap on the MORE button. Scroll down the page a little and you will see the SOUNDS toggle. Be sure that the toggle is set to ON.

If you continue to have difficulties, please contact us.
