I'm very interested in the multiple field guides, but I would like to know some information before investing that amount of money in an Application.
#1. Will all of the applications be converted to Universal Applications? It will run on iPhone or iPad (obviously with different features)
(So long as it WILL be updated and converted at some point, its OK.... )
#2. Do you have a development release schedule for combining OTHER audibon guides into a group application. I would eventually want to own all of the Audubon guides, but I would rather buy two or three SUPER apps that 12 single applications.
(I already exceed 10 pages on my device)
Thanks!
Kim

Hi Kim, all of our apps will eventually work both on the iPhone and the iPad. If you buy an Audubon app for the iPhone you will also be able to use it on your iPad with updated features. As of right now, the apps work the same on both devices until we finish the iPad version.
As for other combinations of subjects, as of right now we do not have plans to combine other subjects. The main issue is size constraints of the iPhone. Audubon Guides with birds, wildflowers, mammals and trees is 960MB with all of the photos and bird sounds. This is one of the great things about the Audubon Nature series of apps that we currently have for Florida and California (soon Texas and New England!), they can hold 10 subjects because they are regional. The good news is, in the next iPhone/iPod Touch update, Apple plans to introduce app folders for better organization and more app storage capacity!
Bill, the iPad updates are coming soon. We are still testing, but an announcement will be made on Facebook and Twitter when it's ready.
Thanks very much for your support! If you have a moment, please review the apps you purchased in the iTunes store. And if you have any more questions, feel free to send us an email at feedback@audubonguides.com.

So if I order the available iPhone app now, the update will be free when the iPad app is available?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, That is correct. If you purchase an application in iTunes it will effectively work on the iPhone / iPod Touch as well as the iPad. Each of our applications are currently being re-programmed to work with the format of the iPad's screen size and capabilities.

Hi,
How about background sleeping support for IOS4? It would be nice to be at the guides, hop to something else, and then go back to the guide without having to start over.

Hey Tim,
We'll most likely implement iOS4 features once iOS4 becomes more stable on older iPhones. There are many reports of poor performance on 3G phones after the update. We want to ensure our applications are available to the widest audience while at the same time providing the best user experience we can. On top of this we are rolling out several new applications very soon as well as updating our current apps and developing for iPad and Android devices. In short, we're working on it.
Hope this answers your question,
Greg
